Mark Your Seat Position - If you change your seat position (while shipping your bike, for example), you might forget where you had it in the first place. That can be a pain when you've spent a lot of time getting your seat height just right for optimum efficiency. The solution is to mark the seatpost with an indelible marker so you can always find your original setting. You can also measure the distance from the top of the saddle to the center of the bottom bracket and write down or memorize the number. That way, even if your mark wears off, you'll be able to find the proper position and re-mark the post. (Don't scratch the post to mark it because this can weaken it and cause it to break.)
